DoorDash Marketplace Integration
DoorDash Marketplace Integration
What is the DoorDash Marketplace Integration?
Unlock a new sales channel — managed entirely from Locally — with fast delivery from DoorDash. Add DoorDash as a new Sales Channel to reach new customers across DoorDash's 42 million monthly active users. Sync products and inventory automatically via Locally, so you can launch in days without changing workflows. Orders are fulfilled directly from your physical store, with delivery in as little as an hour.*
Shoppers find your products in the DoorDash app, place an order, and a Dasher picks it up from your store and delivers it to their door. This is all powered by the Locally setup you already have. No new integration, no separate dashboard to manage. Just dial in a few settings and start accepting orders.
*Based on average delivery time. Delivery times may vary and are not guaranteed.
How It Works
1. Locally handles onboarding for you. Once you've discussed the program with our teams, Locally will link your store details, inventory and catalog to Doordash.
2. Your catalog and inventory sync automatically. We sync your products with DoorDash hourly to ensure real-time stock availability. This comes from your existing inventory feed.
3. Orders flow back through Locally. When a shopper checks out on DoorDash, orders are routed through the Locally order system, meaning you are notified of orders and manage them via Locally order screens exactly like Locally Reserve/Buy Online, Pickup In Store or Same-day Delivery orders. Your staff gets the alert, picks the item, and a Dasher shows up to grab it, and you're done.
4. You get paid out by Doordash. During setup, you'll link a bank account to DoorDash, who pays you out through their standard payout cadence.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What's required to go live on the Doordash Marketplace?
To enable the Doordash integration, you must:
- Be invited by Locally
- Have an active inventory feed
- Setup order notification recipients in the Buy It Locally Setup panel
2. Which products show up on DoorDash?
Any product in your Locally inventory feed that matches to our master catalog. Additional tools are coming to curate your selection on Doordash.
3. How will my staff know when a DoorDash order is placed?
You'll get the same email, SMS, and dashboard notifications you get for any other Locally order. We are also introducing the ability to receive a automated-call to your store when an order is placed.
- How do I confirm a Doordash order?
Orders are sent to you in a pre-confirmed state, so to accept the order, you do not need to do anything. Just pick the item and hand it to the dasher when they arrive.
5. How long do I have to fulfill an order?
By default, you have 30 minutes of "prep time" between when an order is placed and when the Dasher will arrive at your store. If you are ready sooner, click the "Send Dasher Now" button on the Locally order screen to have a Dasher dispatched immediately!
6. What happens if an item is out of stock when staff go to pick it?
If an item is unavailable, you can mark it as out-of-stock directly from the Locally order screen. The shopper is notified and refunded for that line item, and the rest of the order proceeds.
If an item is unavailable at a certain quantity level (i.e. shopper purchased two, you only have one), you can use the Substitution feature on the Locally order screen to partially fulfill the order.
7. Who handles customer service — us or DoorDash?
DoorDash owns the shopper relationship: delivery issues, Dasher problems, and post-purchase support are handled by DoorDash's customer service team. Locally support is your escalation path for anything involving the integration itself: item availability, pricing, and packing orders.
8. Can I turn it off?
Yes, anytime. To disable, contact the Locally team.
9. Where do I see DoorDash sales in reporting?
DoorDash orders appear in your standard Locally Order History reporting, alongside all other Locally orders. You can also view reports within the DoorDash Merchant Portal, see here for more information: https://merchants.doordash.com/en-us/learning-center/reporting.
